The purpose of this privacy notice is to inform you of how Yaesu UK Ltd. (“we”, “us”, and “our”) will process the personal data of our customers (“you” and “your”).

The Categories of Your Data That We Process and Purpose of the Processing

  • Personal identifiers and contact information, including your name, callsign, address, telephone number, email address and bank account;
  • Information about our products that you have purchased including model number, serial number, dealer name, date and price of purchase products; and
  • Further personal data that you provide by filling in the forms in our online services.

  • To answer and fulfill your inquiries or requests;
  • To provide the online services and functions which includes administering our cashback promotion, updating, securing and troubleshooting, providing support, as well as improving and developing our online services;
  • To contact you with information and offers concerning our products and services, to send you further marketing information or to contact you in the context of customer satisfaction surveys;
  • To ensure the quality of our services and for developing new services;
  • To share your data with our group companies so that they may offer you their support and services; and
  • To enforce the online service’s terms, to establish or preserve a legal claim or defense, to prevent fraud or other illegal activities, including attacks on our information technology systems.

The Way How We Collect Your Data

  • You directly provide us with the data we collect. We collect data you register cashback promotion or online inquiry or support request.

Legal Basis

The legal basis for our processing data about you is:

  • To verify your identity;
  • To answer and fulfill your inquiries or requests;
  • To contact you with information and offers concerning our products and services, to send you further marketing information or to contact you in the context of customer satisfaction surveys; and
  • To share your data with our group companies so that they may offer you their support and services.
    • Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) consisting of customer relationship management, including complaint management and carrying out marketing and promotional activities; and
    • Consent, if voluntarily provided (Article 6(1) (a) GDPR). You may object to the processing of your data for this purpose at any time by writing to us or by using the opt-out mechanism provided in the respective communication you received.
  • To provide the online services and functions which includes administering our cashback promotion, updating, securing, and troubleshooting, providing support, as well as improving and developing our online services; and
  • To ensure the quality of our services and for developing new services.
    • Contract Performance (Article 6(1)(b) General Data Protection Regulation)
    • Legitime Interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) consisting of quality assurance, services, support and development.
    • Consent, if voluntarily provided (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • To enforce the online service’s terms, to establish or preserve a legal claim or defense, to prevent fraud or other illegal activities, including attacks on our information technology systems.

    • Compliance with Legal Obligations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR

Transfer and Disclosure of Personal Data

We may transfer your personal data:

  • to our group companies;
  • to service providers and their subcontractors who process your personal data under our instruction such as our IT system providers (e.g., providers of hosting, IT maintenance or web application); and
  • to third parties in connection with complying with legal obligations or establishing, exercising or defending right or claims (e.g., for court and arbitration proceedings, to law enforcement authorities and regulators, to attorneys and consultants).

International Data Transfers

Your personal data may be transferred to (including access in or stored in) a country or territory outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). We may share your personal data with our group companies in Japan, country which benefits from an adequacy decision (EU) 2019/419, adopted by the European Commission on January 23rd, 2019. You can obtain copies of the relevant documents by making a request as set out below.
